The 5-Minute Daily Review That Saves Hours

21st August 2021

Small reviews beat big ones

You do not need a two-hour planning session every day. What you need is a five-minute reset that keeps your list aligned with reality.

The routine

At the start or end of each day:

  1. Check what is overdue and why
  2. Confirm today's top three tasks
  3. Move anything that drifted
  4. Close out what you finished

That's it. The point is not to plan perfectly – it's to notice when the plan drifts.

Vision without routine is daydreaming. Routine without vision is drudgery.
—¬Ã¢â‚¬Â Mike Murdock

Make it automatic

Pair the review with something you already do – your first coffee, or right after lunch. When the trigger is consistent, the habit sticks and the mental load drops.
