The 5-Minute Daily Review That Saves Hours
21st August 2021
Small reviews beat big ones
You do not need a two-hour planning session every day. What you need is a five-minute reset that keeps your list aligned with reality.
The routine
At the start or end of each day:
- Check what is overdue and why
- Confirm today's top three tasks
- Move anything that drifted
- Close out what you finished
That's it. The point is not to plan perfectly – it's to notice when the plan drifts.
Vision without routine is daydreaming. Routine without vision is drudgery.
Make it automatic
Pair the review with something you already do – your first coffee, or right after lunch. When the trigger is consistent, the habit sticks and the mental load drops.

Five minutes now prevents the three-hour panic later.
